David invites Dr. Alan Duesterhaus on the podcast to discuss concepts from the book The Coddling of the American Mind by Jonathan Haidt and Greg Lukianoff. Alan Duesterhaus is a long time friend and mentor of David, and a brilliant mind. Alan P. Duesterhaus is an Assistant Professor of Management & Marketing in the Tabor School of Business at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. Alan manages his own consulting business and is lifelong volunteer and contributing member to Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Alan discusses the changing trends on college campuses, including an aggressive shift in students ability to manage stressful ideas and differing opinions. We discuss how this may impact their ability to enter a diverse and challenging work environment and adult problems as the emerge.
